In an alternate version of Victorian London, some of the most famous figures in the era's literature actually live and interact with one another. American Ethan Chandler is in London to hunt down a mysterious creature that has kidnapped a young woman named Vanessa Ives, and he enlists the help of Doctor Victor Frankenstein and Dorian Gray in his investigation. But each of his companions come with their own histories, and they've being haunted by people from their own past. And Vanessa herself will discover that she has a destiny to be fulfilled and a strange connection to the Lord of Hell himself.
