The period just after World War II is often considered the Golden Age of Hollywood thanks to the boom of the industry and the rise of an efficient studio system — but not everyone who made it to Hollywood had the chance to have an impact on the industry. This is the story of the professionals and creatives struggling to make a name for themselves and shape the history of Hollywood in the process. But the options for success aren't the same for everyone, and both women and people of color have to struggle that much more to make it in the film business.
