Plot

In the vibrant world of high school, two musical souls collide, each carrying the weight of their families' musical legacy. Lee Sin, the charismatic frontman of the popular rock band "The Stupid," is as infamous for his musical prowess as he is for his brash attitude. His father, once a celebrated guitarist, now teeters on the brink of death, a victim of drug addiction that led to his painful separation from Sin's mother. Parallel to Sin's modern melodies, Lee Gyo Won, a devoted practitioner of traditional Korean music, dances to the rhythm of her grandfather's expectations. As one of the most revered traditional musicians of his time, her grandfather envisions her as the prodigy who will carry forward the rich cultural legacy. He disapproves of contemporary sounds, seeing them as a threat to the sanctity of tradition. As their high school prepares for the grand "100th Year Anniversary" celebration, an opportunity for students to shine with their talents, the paths of Sin and Gyo Won cross. Their first encounter is marred by misunderstandings, setting off on the wrong note. However, an unexpected spark ignites when Gyo Won witnesses Sin's electrifying live performance, pulling her into a captivating swirl of emotions. Will Sin be able to step out of his father's shadow and redefine modern music? Can Gyo Won fulfill her grandfather's dreams without losing herself? Or does an unforeseen symphony await them both, a melody of love, dreams, and tradition that may change their lives forever? This is the heart-tugging narrative of Heartstrings, where modern beats clash and meld with traditional rhythms, orchestrating a melody of youth, passion, and self-discovery.
