Conan O'Brien's exodus from the traditional late night show circuit allowed him to develop a more eccentric and personalized approach to topics that have become rote. Conan's somewhat awkward interview style ensures that guests are often there as much to hang out as they are to promote their latest project — and while he retains a sidekick in the form of Andy Richter and discusses legitimate news topics, he also manages to build out an absurdist world of show business characters that take on personalities all of their own.
