Plot

In the heart of the 1980s, Catherine Clare finds herself uprooted from the vibrancy of Manhattan, reluctantly embarking on a new life in the quaint, historic hamlet of Chosen, New York. Her husband, George, has traded the city's skyscrapers for the scenic views of the Hudson Valley, securing an art history teaching position at a humble college. Tasked with transforming an antiquated dairy farm into a nurturing environment for their young daughter, Franny, Catherine grapples with feelings of isolation and loneliness. As she delves deeper into her new existence, Catherine's keen senses pick up on a chilling presence both in her marriage and the ancient walls of their ramshackle home. The whispers of the past echo through the corridors, intertwining with her growing suspicion of a sinister darkness casting its shadow over her life. Both her relationship with George and the property's history seem to harbor eerie secrets, painting her reality with strokes of unease and dread. Inspired by the critically-acclaimed novel by Elizabeth Brundage, "Things Heard & Seen" weaves a tale of suspense and mystery, juxtaposing the tranquility of rural life with the unsettling undercurrents of a marriage teetering on the brink of the abyss. As Catherine navigates her way through the labyrinth of her new home's past and the unsettling revelations of her present, she is drawn into a vortex of intrigue that threatens to consume everything she holds dear.
