The Ruins (2008)

Two young couples are on vacation together in Mexico when they meet two German tourists. One of them is trying to find out what happened to his brother, who disappeared while working on a dig excavating ancient ruins nearby. The six of them head out to the ruins where they are attacked by locals. However, it quickly becomes clear that this is the least of their worries. The ruins are covered in a strange type of vine that the villagers seem terrified of, and the tourists learn the horrifying reason for their fear.
