The Invention of Lying (2009)

It's a world in which nobody has ever told a lie. A man is about to lose his job. He's also chubby and not very attractive. He's in love with a woman, but the feeling isn't mutual. He goes to the bank and tells his first lie. He then goes to visit his dying mother in the hospital, where he tells fictional stories about what heaven is like. The hospital's nurses overhear him and believe what he says. After all, nobody lies. He's seen as a prophet, and his job gets better. But will Anna take him for his word?
