In the year 1980, aboard the mighty aircraft carrier, the USS Nimitz, Warren Lasky, an assistant in the Department of Defense, finds himself ensnared in an extraordinary mission. He is assigned by the enigmatic Richard Tideman to observe the ship's routines under the vigilant command of Captain Matthew Yelland. As he navigates the vessel’s intricate dynamics, Lasky discovers that Wing Commander Richard T. Owens wields an uncanny grasp of history that will soon prove invaluable.
