Taxi Driver (1976)

Disturbed loner and Vietnam War veteran Travis Bickle can't sleep at night, so he looks for a job allowing him to work long hours. Bickle takes a job as a taxi driver, and he remains in demand 24/7 in the busy and decaying metropolis of New York City. Bickle's exposure to the underside of NYC life further eats away at his mental decline. After a failed attempt at establishing a relationship with a political campaign volunteer, Bickle turns his attention to a local prostitute named Iris. Bickle intends to save her from the pimp exploiting her, so he arms himself and goes on a rampage.
