Tales from Earthsea (2006)

This animated fantasy movie fuses Japanese manga with American fantasy novels to spin a story of a kingdom in crisis. Dragons, which haven't been seen in centuries, are appearing in the skies, and the king is missing. The wizard Ged and the young Prince Arren are investigating, but both have hidden motives that will be exploited by the evil with Kumo. Along the way, Prince Arren and Ged encounter magic swords, dangerous swamps and talking animals. Can they restore the balance of the world or will evil triumph?
