Ray (2004)

Ray Charles would eventually become one of the most celebrated R&B musicians of all time, but that doesn't mean that his rise to the top of the charts was an inevitability. Ray started his life as a poor black kid raised in a family of sharecroppers. He'd lose both his brother and his eyesight by the age of eight, but that wouldn't stop him from dreaming big. Ray's lack of eyesight doesn't stop him from pursuing his dreams, but growing up in a society that's still segregated undoubtedly has an impact on his path to success. But he'll also face the specter of drug abuse.
