Planet of the Apes (1968)

Taylor and two other astronauts wake from hibernation to find that they have crash landed on a strange planet. Venturing out to explore, they discover that the planet is populated by intelligent talking apes whose society seems eerily similar to that of humans while humans are voiceless and wild, hunted like animals. Taylor is injured in the throat when the apes capture him, so they assume that he is just like the other humans on the planet. He must struggle to save himself by demonstrating his intelligence before an ape tribunal, but a shocking discovery awaits him.
