Michael Clayton is a "fixer" for the lucrative law firm Kenner, Back, and Ledeen. That means that he comes in and uses his years of connections throughout law enforcement and the justice system to get wealthy clients off of the hook. But when a senior partner has a nervous breakdown and questions the ethics of what he does, Michael can't just operate on cruise control. Arthur Edens is a friend of Michael's, and he's at the heart of an insidious conspiracy orchestrated by a rival litigator. Both Michael and Arthur need to wrestle with the ethical impact of their decisions.
