Lawrence of Arabia (1962)

The real story of T.H. Lawrence is a World War I epic taking place far away from the front lines. English officer Lawrence is sent to Cairo to observe the Arab revolution and determine what threats or opportunities it poses to the United Kingdom. But he eventually finds himself getting swept up in the nationalistic and ethnic struggle. Over the course of years, he becomes a respected guerilla leader for the locals and helps them rout and otherwise undermine Turkish forces. As his power grows, Lawrence and his army develop the opportunity to take the fight right to the heart of the Ottoman Empire.
