Plot

Situated in the vibrant yet hollow heart of Los Angeles, 'Knight of Cups' follows the introspective journey of Rick, a successful but disillusioned screenwriter. Haunted by the tragic loss of one brother and the grim fate of another, Rick navigates his existence in the glittering maze of Hollywood's excesses. Intoxicatingly indulgent, his life is a carousel of ephemeral pleasures and fleeting encounters with women, each one a temporary balm to his searing pain. Yet, each encounter also brings him a step closer to an elusive revelation, a sense of purpose in a world obsessed with spectacle. His quest for meaning is a labyrinthine voyage through love and self-discovery, illuminated by the interactions with six distinctive women, each reflecting different facets of his life and soul. The narrative, a tapestry of passion and despair, is delicately segmented into eight chapters, each named after a tarot card symbolising Rick's evolving relationship with the people in his life; save for the final chapter, aptly named 'Freedom'. 'Knight of Cups' is a cinematic journey into the human soul, a poignant exploration of one man's search for his place in a world that thrives on illusion.
