Arthur Fleck, party clown and stand-up comedian, lives with his impoverished mother in Gotham City. Following a series of events, packed with injustice inflicted by the rich and powerful, Arthur gradually loses what is left of his sanity. After committing his first few murders, along with no longer having access to his much needed medication, he embraces his newly found madness.
