Blood Simple (1984)

Julian Marty isn't an especially nice guy, but his bar pours cheap drinks and always seems to bring drama, so people stick around. Marty has hired a private investigator to look into his suspicions that his wife is sleeping with a bartender, but he isn't expecting his wife to be hatching a plan to take him out of the picture. There's little love lost, but there's plenty at stake and a number of unknown motives at work here. A bungled attempt at a contract killing will spiral into a chain reaction of violence and tragedy that will leave no one uninjured.
