A Knight's Tale (2001)

William Thatcher was supposed to gradually learn the arts of jousting, chivalry and horsemanship as he squired for his noble master. Instead, peasant Thatcher is thrust into an adventure when his knight is unexpectedly killed while jousting. Thatcher takes up the knight's banner and travels to other tournaments, where he can win big prizes as long as his ruse is undiscovered. Along the way, Thatcher begins traveling with a writer, William Chaucer, ultimately inspiring one of the most enduring stories in the English language.
