Vince needs money for his father's necessary surgeries, and there's no way that his meager income is going to pay for it. So it feels like no small amount of lucky when he hears a man talking about how he made a fortune just to have him overdose. Vince manages to inherit the instructions to the stranger's wealth, but it doesn't come without a cost. Walking away wealthy means playing a dangerous game of Russian roulette. And if you manage to walk away from the experience alive and with your wealth, it's still unlikely that the guilt will ever go away.
